Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue: Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose installed near India Gate. This statue was made in Telangana from a huge granite stone. To bring Netaji’s statue to Delhi, the gates of many toll plazas were either widened or had to be broken. It can be guessed from this that how tall and wide this idol is.
On this matter Rajat Mehta, director of Granite Studio India in Delhi, has said that a special road had to be constructed to bring this statue from the mine to the highway. He told that the stone on which the statue of Netaji has been carved was a huge stone weighing 280 metric tons and 32 feet tall. This stone was 11 feet high and 8.5 feet wide. Many challenges had to be faced to bring it to Delhi.
Special truck passed through 5 states
Rajat Mehta further said that the road from the mine to the national highway was unpaved. In such a situation, a temporary road was made to take the stone to the highway. Apart from this, a special truck was also prepared. This truck passed through 5 states to reach Delhi. The weight of the statue was such that 42 tires and a 100 feet long truck also got damaged, due to which 72 hours were damaged.
Had to break toll plaza gate
Rajat Mehta further told that this truck was so huge that due to this the gates of many toll plazas either had to be widened or they had to be broken. He told that permission had already been taken from the authorities for such work. The truth is that knowing about the statue of Netaji and its importance, the police of many states provided security to the truck.
