The investigation committee has started working at the field level to investigate the reason why half of the country’s power supply was disconnected for about eight hours due to the disaster in the national grid. In the meantime, a six-member committee has been formed under the leadership of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) Executive Director Yakub Elahi Chowdhury. A representative of BUET has also been attached to the inquiry committee.
On Wednesday (October 6), a holiday on the occasion of Durga Puja, members of the investigation committee visited power plants in various areas to investigate the incident.
On Tuesday around 2:00 p.m., when the national grid was disrupted, power went out in half of the country including Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Mymensingh. After 6:30 in the evening, the electricity started to return step by step. The situation returned to normal at 10:00 pm. Due to this power failure, there was a breather in public life. There is a shortage of water in the homes, the suffering of the patients in the hospital is extreme.
