Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) carried out separate operations within the Teknaf border space and recovered a big amount of crystal meth ice, yaba and beer.
BGB 2 captain Lt. Colonel Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar stated that 1 kg 558 grams of crystal meth ice, 10,000 items of yaba, 190 cans of beer, 320 packets of Burmese bidi and 9,300 Myanmar cash (kyat) have been recovered through the operation. Nevertheless, it was not doable to arrest any of the traffickers at the moment.
He stated 9,300 kyat (Myanmar foreign money), 35 packets of lachcha semai and a wood boat have been seized throughout a raid on the Naf River close to Nightingale at 11pm on Sunday.
Then again, 320 packets of bidis have been recovered from Karingaghona space of Huaikeng Union at round 1pm on Monday (April 25) whereas being smuggled from Myanmar.
Moreover, 48 cans of unlicensed beer have been recovered from Naityangpara space of Teknaf Municipality at round 4 am.
Later, at round 5:15 am, the BGB noticed three smugglers coming in direction of the embankment with sacks on their shoulders in Sabrang Jinnakhal space and tried to cease them by firing. However the smugglers dropped the sack and fled contained in the Keora backyard. After looking out the sack, 1 kg 558 grams of crystal meth ice, 10,000 items of yaba and 142 cans of beer have been recovered. Nevertheless, it was not doable to arrest anybody throughout these operations.
