Women’s Premier League Teams: The teams for the women’s edition of the IPL were auctioned in Mumbai today. It was also given a name. This league will now be known as Women’s Premier League (WPL). For the first season, 5 teams have been placed in it. A total of 17 companies bid for these 5 teams, including 7 IPL franchises. In the last, three IPL franchisees and two other companies got success.
The BCCI had set 10 venues for the Women’s Premier League. Out of these, the teams were auctioned on the basis of 5 venues with the highest bids. Adani Group’s company placed the biggest bid for Ahmedabad. The Women’s Premier League franchise was bought for Ahmedabad for 1289 crores.
Who bought the teams for how much?
Adani Sportsline Private Limited bought the Ahmedabad franchise for 1289 crores. Mumbai Indians’ IndiaWin Sports Pvt Ltd won the bid for Mumbai. Mumbai’s franchise was bought for 921.99 crores. Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited bought the Bangalore franchise for 901 crores. JSW GMR Cricket Private Limited, owned by Delhi Capitals, bought the franchise for Delhi by bidding 810 crores. For Lucknow, Capri Global Holding Pvt Ltd made the highest bid of Rs 757 crore. In this way, BCCI earned a total of 4670 crores from the sale of these 5 teams.
