Neeraj Chopra Wins Diamond League 2022: India’s star javelin thrower and Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has created another history. Neeraj Chopra also won the final title of Diamond League 2022. He won this title by throwing the best throw of 88.44 meters in the final. This is the first time that the Diamond League title has been named after an Indian player.
Neeraj also reached the finals of 2017 and 2018 in Diamond League. He had finished seventh and fourth respectively, but this time Neeraj Chopra has created history and won this coveted title.
88.44 meter javelin throw won the title
Neeraj started poorly in the final of Diamond League 2022 held in Zurich, winning Olympic gold in 2021, Asian Games gold in 2018, Commonwealth Games gold in 2018, World Athletics Championship silver in 2022. His first throw was a foul. However, he created history in his second throw by throwing the javelin 88.44 meters away and took the lead over all the players. No player could beat his distance. After this Neeraj Neeraj threw 88.00 meters in the third attempt, 86.11 meters in the fourth, 87.00 meters in the fifth and 83.60 meters in the sixth attempt.
Neeraj was followed by Jacob Wadlet of Czech Republic with his best throw of 86.94m and Julian Weber of Germany at number three with a best throw of 83.73m. Neeraj Chopra has won Olympic gold in 2021, Asian Games gold in 2018, Commonwealth Games gold in 2018, World Athletics Championship silver in 2022 for India. He had told many times that winning his Diamond League was a dream. Neeraj has fulfilled his dream by capturing this title.
